What you need to know about the course

The race starts at the Royal Gorge Summit Station, and covers 11 miles primarily on single track trail. You will summit four peaks: Rowton, Crow’s, Lincoln, and Judah. The race finishes at the upper Judah parking lot at Sugar Bowl. The race’s single aid station is around halfway and will have Näak food and drink mix, snacks, water, and ice. There will also be first aid and women’s specific health items available.

We will provide shuttles from the finish line to the start line (shuttle is free with your race entry). There is NO parking, drop-off, or spectator access at the start line, so you must park at the finish line and take the race shuttle to the start. Course Description:

  • The Forest - Enjoy a couple of flowy singletrack miles in the lodgepole pine forest before heading up the first climb to Rowton.

  • Razorback Ridge - Tackle a steep climb to Rowton (summit # 1) before savoring the course highlight: Razorback Ridge, a singletrack stretch with insane Sierra views and an abundance of wildflowers. This section culminates with a steep and technical climb to the summit of Crow’s Nest (summit #2).

  • Crow’s Nest & Disney Descent - You’ve reached the first big descent of the day, starting on steep singletrack that quickly turns into a nice gentle fireroad to take you down to the aid station. This section will be timed, with prizes for fastest times within gender categories.

  • Lincoln Climb - Time for a long, hard, exposed climb up to Mt Lincoln (summit #3) on a fireroad. Find purity in the suffering.

  • More Ridges - Drop into a punchy descent off Mt Lincoln before one final push up to Mount Judah (summit #4) with awesome views of Donner Lake.

  • Euphoria - Relish the perfect, winding singletrack that takes you all the way down to the finish line – if you didn’t blow up your quads already.

Race Cutoff is 5 hours total, with a hard cutoff of 2:45 at the aid station. Given the time and distance, there will be no drop bags, pacers or crew.
